How to make Easy No-Cook Roasted Red Pepper Sauce
Not only does this sauce have a short ingredient list of basic pantry and fridge staples, it can be thrown together in 10 minutes.
To make this recipe, start by spraying a small frying pan with olive oil spray. Once the pan is prepared, mince the shallots and garlic. Add the shallots to the pan and cook them on medium high heat for about 5 minutes. You will want to cook them until they are soft and translucent. Next add the minced garlic and saute for 1 minute or until just fragrant. Be careful to not burn the garlic because that will result in a bitter taste.
.
After the shallots and garlic have cooked, add them to a food processor along with the drained roasted red peppers and basil. Make sure the red peppers are drained well. If they are not drained well enough it will make the sauce too watery. Process until a smooth puree forms. While the sauce is smooth, the consistency will be fairly thick. Finally, you will stir in the salt and pepper to taste.
As I mentioned earlier, this sauce uses pantry staples. When you have nothing in the refrigerator but you need to pull something together quickly, this easy no-cook sauce will be your go to. The flavors are delicious and the recipe couldn’t be any easier.
How to serve this sauce
I think the most obvious way to serve this sauce would be to top pasta for a light, vegetarian dish.
You could also take my Air Fried Chicken Cutlets recipe and top with this sauce for added flavor. Adding it to grilled chicken or fish would really elevate an otherwise ordinary protein.
The options for this sauce are really endless. It’s delicious enough to put on top of a nice crusty piece of toast for a snack, top eggs, potatoes, sandwiches and burgers. It will add so much extra flavor to just about anything. The fact that it can be thrown together in no time is an added bonus!
